At just 14 years old, Melendez discovered a deep passion for music, thanks to his father, a DJ who passed down his love for the craft to Melendez and his brother. Growing up in a musically diverse household, Melendez’s appreciation for various genres naturally sparked a desire to experiment with sounds, pushing the boundaries and blending music styles to create something unique.
His career officially kicked off in 2015 when he took the stage for the first time at Eastdown Warehouse in Houston. While the crowd was sparse, with just one notable figure in attendance- HVN the impact of that moment would shape his career trajectory. Recognizing Melendez's talent for mixing, HVN brought him into the city’s underground scene, where he would begin to make his mark. Reflecting on this, Melendez expresses deep gratitude for the guidance and opportunities that helped pave his way into the industry.
From there, the journey went international. Traveling to cities like Tokyo, London, Helsinki, Paris, and Poland gave Melendez a firsthand look at the global DJ scene, reinforcing the idea that there was a vast world out there, ripe for conquering. However, it was 2019 that brought a turning point in his career when Melendez joined rapper Kevin Gates on a major tour, marking his first arena show experience. This was the moment that transformed the local DJ into a global contender.
But Melendez’s ambitions reach even further. With a particular fascination for the DJ culture in Germany, especially in the techno scene, he is eager to make his debut in the country. Having studied the techniques of German and Dutch DJs from the very start of his career, Melendez admires how precisely they’ve mastered the art of DJing, approaching it as a science. One of his biggest dreams is to DJ back-to-back with Flosstradamus, an act that not only shaped his music taste but also proved that mixing rap and EDM can sound effortlessly cool.
Looking ahead, Melendez sees a future filled with endless possibilities. His goal? To travel the globe, spinning in every club possible, while staying true to his belief that DJing would take him to the places he’s always dreamed of and introduce him to the people he’s always wanted to meet. His ultimate ambition is clear: to become the best DJ in the world. And with relentless determination, Melendez isn’t planning to stop until he’s reached that pinnacle.
